After not reading any Sandman in over a week this was a good issue to come back on. Dream explains very clearly to Death exactly what has happened lately in a way that feels totally natural but also appropriate to update those who either can’t quite remember what happened up until this point or new readers. I really liked the relationship between Death and Dream and Dream’s musings on Death. I also feel like this issue contained a nice amount of Gaiman’s humor. I really liked the line “You are utterly the stupidest, most self-centered, appallingest excuse for an anthropomorphic personification on this or any other plane!” I also really enjoyed Death talking about Mary Poppins. I hope she comes back more.
